Ryokan Hakone Ginyu

Fabulous! We stayed for a night and enjoyed every moment. The best ryokan experience one could ask for. Our room, Kiraboshi on Level 3, was traditional and well-maintained. The private onsen offered a fantastic view of the mountains. The food was well-presented and delicious. Lastly, the service from all staff exceeded our expectations. Although some didn't speak English well, they were incredibly kind and caring (Mika - we love you!). If you plan to get massages, I recommend booking in advance due to limited space; we were disappointed to miss out on this.

We stayed one night during our honeymoon in Japan, for our only day in Hakone… it was, without a doubt, the most outstanding Ryokan experience we could ever imagine. We booked the Sora japanese room: the room looks like a typical classical Japanese room, with tatami on the floor. Beautiful and comfortable, enhanced by a magnificent private onsen on the terrace. Special mention for dinner and breakfast, which in our case were served in the room. Top notch chef, the best meals I've ever had in my life.

This was the most fantastic, luxurious night of my life!!! I recommend arriving as soon as check in opens as my only regret was not spending every available moment in the hotel. The service was impeccable and the staff took such care in preparing our meals and asking about dietary requirements before we even arrived. I loved the yukata and the private onsen, the amenities felt luxurious too. Can’t recommend more!!

I dont even know where to begin. This was one of the best experiences of my life easily. The service is next level. I he food is devine. And the rooms are so unique that it was painful to leave. I recommend getting there as soon as you can to enjoy every bit of it. The bartender Jimmy stole our hearts. He was so passionate, polite, and truly enhanced our experience. We told him it was our belated honeymoon and he was so happy for us. Then we had the most incredible food I've ever eaten in my life. A wonderful cheerful woman served us 8 courses of a variety of fine dishes (Nothing will ever come close to it again and food is forever ruined now) Dessert however, took forever and we thought they forgot about us. No biggy, but then the bartender Jimmy came and said something was wrong with dessert and we needed to come with him for it. He led us back to the bar and when he opened the curtains we found that he shut the whole bar down for us, lit a ton of candles and made us a private honeymoon celebration. I immediately started crying. I loved him so much for that. He is a special human and his passion for life and interacting with people will stay with me forever. He made us feel so special.

Amazing! Didn't leave the hotel for the entire time we were there. They brought us breakfast and dinner and we just relaxed. It was perfect for the middle of our Japan trip. The only downside is the price (obviously) I have never stayed in a more luxurious hotel so I cannot say if it's comparable or not to other similar hotels but we loved it. I wish we could have stayed longer! They even packed us a to-go lunch.

After I was already back in Tokyo, about 1.5 hours later, I realized I left my debit card and IC card in my room. Called them up and they had already found them, contacted my travel agency, and mailed it to my hotel in Kyoto. When I checked in the package was waiting for me with everything including the 5,000 yen I forgot about. Absolutely incredible service that is completely normal in Japan!!

What a great experience. Excellent service from the time we strolled into the parking lot to the time we left. Always warmly greeted by everyone that we came across. We had a beautiful garden view with patio Onsen and it was perfect. The what seemed like 20+ item traditional dinner was delicious. Big thank you to Miko, our dinner hostess, for explaining all the different courses to us in English. Apparently this location is frequented by sports celebrities as evident by their autographs on the wall of the 5th floor bar. If visiting Japan and you are interested in this experience I highly recommended you trying to get reservations at least 6 months in advance. They are booked solid year round.
